The Inca Terraces

Today we headed out to visits the historic Inca Terraces built over 2,000 years ago by a previous civilisations and the improved by the Incas in the early 1500s. We were at 3,500 metres on a very fertile plateau overlooking the mountains. It is a farming area with fields of potatoes, fodder crops and quinoa crops. The houses are made of adobe mud. The roads are challenging. But the panorama is breathtaking.
